Profile

I love coaxing a good story to life. With nearly twenty years of professional storytelling experience as a documentary producer & video content creator, I bring the same skills to the written word as an editor.

20 Years of Storytelling Experience

Before becoming an editor, I was the lead script-writer/producer for an extreme weather documentary series which has aired on National Geographic and other national networks. Every day, I was challenged with taking a complex scientific topic and making it easily enjoyed by non-scientists. My love of storytelling has led to a mild addiction to running blogs, with niche topics like homemade ice cream, artisanal beer, the local art scene, mental health, and the importance of girls studying STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). I’m also a photographer, a musician, and an artist…all passions which require a keen eye for composition, pacing, and attention to detail. I also loved being a member of Toastmasters™, where the focus is not only on speech writing, but support and evaluation skills.

Editing Services

I'm eager to help you tell your story. I especially love providing developmental, substantive and stylistic edits for fiction, creative non-fiction,  memoirs, family histories, and marketing materials, but I'm open to exploring all topics. I also provide copy editing, proofreading, script & voiceover consulting, research, ghost writing, and re-writing services.

Would you like to know more about the different stages of editing? Check out these videos I created for Editors Canada.

Video and Website Services

If you need video services, I'm happy to discuss how video can advance your personal brand as an author to reach a broader audience and improve engagement with your readers.  I can also help you build a website to promote your books.

It's all about telling a good story, no matter the medium.
