Are you looking for an editor to ensure your copy is clean, concise, correct, and compelling? Do you need help developing unique and inspiring content for your business or educational endeavor? Would your project benefit from an experienced coordinator with a keen eye for detail and deadlines?

As principal of Kwill Communications, based in Toronto, Ontario, I offer a wide range of editorial services, as well as writing and project coordination, to clients that include trade publishers, education publishers, colleges, journals, magazines, and self-publishing authors.

Education: Well-designed educational materials support learning and student achievement by being engaging, logical, relevant, unbiased, and balanced, and by clearly conveying information while anticipating student needs and challenges. I have extensive experience working on educational materials including textbooks, e-textbooks, tests, online resources, reports, and curriculum. My roles have varied based on project needs. I have written/rewritten textbook sections and curriculum, managed the work of outside developers, designers, and writers, acted as a developmental editor, provided copy editing, and proofed layouts. I have worked extensively on ESL, TOEFL, IELTS, and CEGEP materials. I bring curiosity, professionalism, positivity, and initiative to all my educational projects.

Memoir: Memoirs reveal not just facts of a life but its truths. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with many authors to produce memoirs. I can provide ghostwriting, writing coaching, substantive editing, and copy editing, as well as advice and encouragement. I am currently working on launching a company devoted to the creation, production, and dissemination of women’s stories.

Self-help: This genre covers many topics and approaches driven by the same motivation: helping others. I have helped many authors develop their unique voice and vision and produce powerful and inspiring books. I can manage this process for self-publishing authors or help authors develop a working manuscript and proposal to approach agents and publishers.

Before launching Kwill in 2018, I was vice-president of Colborne Communications, where I worked on projects for corporate, government, and education clients. Prior to that, I was publisher of Iguana Books, responsible for acquisitions, project coordination, and production. In past lives, I managed a sales support team of 17 at Manulife Investments and worked as a sports reporter at the Saskatoon StarPhoenix. I hold a MA in English from the University of Calgary and was awarded the Marsh Jeanneret Award for academic excellence while studying editing at Ryerson University.
