A Certified Professional Editor, I edit, proofread, and index cookbooks, art books, business books, memoirs, corporate histories, scholarly texts, government documents, and other non-fiction materials. My freelance clients include publishers, self-publishing authors, businesses, and the public sector.

As a writer, I have published memoirs, corporate histories, and magazine articles, and I blog about BC's bookselling history. I am also an editing instructor for SFU and a business-writing instructor for corporate clients.

I hold an Editing Certificate from SFU and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Projects showing the range of my experience include:

Peace, Love & Fibre (Appetite by Random House). About my work to copyedit this cookbook, the managing editor said, “I was so happy with the copyedit, and Mairlyn Smith [the author] told me she just felt so lucky to have someone asking these questions now rather than after publication! We were both really pleased at how thoroughly you’d researched her style, making notes and choices based on her previous books. It was pretty much the perfect author/editor/copyeditor connection.” This is one of over eighty cookbooks I have edited, proofread, or indexed for various clients.

Heaven, Hell and Somewhere in Between (Figure 1 Publishing/Museum of Anthropology at UBC): I copyedited and indexed this full-colour art book, one of ten titles I've worked on for Figure 1.

Curriculum materials (BC Ministry of Education): Together with my partners at West Coast Editorial Associates, I copyedited new curriculum documents in 2016 and 2018 for second languages and applied design, skills, and technologies courses.
