Ewe Editorial Services
Eloquent, versatile, inquisitive, and with a love of learning and the ability to communicate effectively—as a Gemini, I am a born editor. I have over sixteen years of experience, and I offer meticulous, friendly service. I specialize in copy editing, indexing, manuscript evaluation, permissions and photo research, and proofreading. I have taught seminars in indexing and permissions research for the Toronto Branch of Editors Canada.
I have worked on a range of materials, from books (textbooks, scholarly monographs, trade non-fiction, and novels) to grant applications, journal articles to resumes, reports to academic theses. (I do not edit student papers without a signed form from the professor giving approval for and setting out the terms of the edit.) My clients include McGraw-Hill Education, Nelson Education, UBC Press, Canadian Scholars Press, Robert Rose, Emond, Hong Kong University Press, and the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia. One of my special strengths is patience in dealing with authors, which comes from my experience as a published novelist and Journey Prize–nominated short story writer whose own work has been edited.
I have two MAs (English literature, creative writing) and an ESL teaching certificate (CELTA). I also completed a Publishing Certificate at Ryerson University, where I won a Marsh Jeanneret Memorial Award for academic excellence.
Claudia Forgas, a freelance production editor for Pearson Canada, commented, "I must tell you that I'm delighted with your excellent work. Many thanks for making my life easier!"
Mary Clark, an instructor at the University of British Columbia, said, "Marnie has done a great job, especially on a complex topic such as this."
