Choice Words Editing

Halifax, NS

I'm a copy and stylistic editor focusing in non-fiction and short-form content for publishers, indie authors, businesses and organizations. I specialize in writing that is inclusive and intersectional, and I’m a big believer in the old standby that you never stop learning. My hope is to give back to the LGBTQ+, environmental activism, and literary communities as a stylistic and copy editor.

I hold a BA from St. Thomas University, a Visual Arts Certificate in Studio from NSCAD University, and a Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University. At Ryerson I earned a professional development award for completing the Chang School's course series in children's publishing.

“Meaghan was an intern at Nimbus for four months and contributed heavily to our company blog as well as our product keywords strategy. She always understood the needs of the projects very quickly, offered insightful suggestions, and adapted the copy aptly to suit the audience and medium. On top of her editorial skills, Meaghan has shown a lot of dedication and passion to her work, which will be a great asset to any team or project!” – Jingwei Zhang, Digital Marketing Coordinator, Nimbus Publishing

“Meaghan has been a wonderful addition to our content team. Her pieces are thoughtful, articulate & compelling. We can provide her with direction, and can trust her to get it right. I highly recommend working with her!” – Stefanie, Halifax Paper Hearts

"Meaghan was pleasant to work with and provided great advice for my scholarship essay. Her response was prompt, and her work proved to be a great investment as I was awarded my scholarship." – Michelle, student
