I am a copyeditor and proofreader with more than two decades of experience writing and editing legal documents and communications. I have recently left the legal community to launch a career as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, for which I have been studying and preparing since 2014.
While my skills and experience have been built in legal communications, I am equally suited to and interested in working with projects focused on arts, culture, and humanities. I am particularly interested in Canadian literature, memoirs, cookbooks, the cultural and legal aspects of cannabis cultivation and use, and the history and mythology of the North American indigenous peoples.
I am a book dragon with a slightly out-of-control book-collecting habit (some would call it hoarding; I prefer to call it tsundoku), and passionate about contributing to the creation and publication of clear, concise, and polished writing.
I continually focus on increasing my skill set by studying for my Publishing Certificate with Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, and taking advantage of Editors Canada’s excellent professional development opportunities.
