Profile

I edit and write to convey meaning clearly and quickly, vital in the age of Twitter and Too Long Didn't Read. I use plain language and structural and stylistic editing to meet your readers' and stakeholders' needs, and my copy-editing skills are sharp. I have written or edited on many topics: the justice system and the law, health care, community and consumer services, the environment and natural resources, and many areas of culture. Web content, news releases, speeches, reports, book marks, posters, and a book chapter! -- I have seen it all.

My work advising on public communication gave me great insight into how governments work and make policy, and into the issues they face. I have also worked with small businesses, boards, and not-for-profit organizations.

I have developed communication targetted to business leaders, Cabinet ministers, healthcare workers, corrections employees, patients, parents, teenagers, artists and curators, lovers of the arts, people with disabilities, Aboriginal people, and everyone in between. I can catch their attention quickly or help you to do it. Clarity is the basis of good communication, especially written communication, and it's my aim in all of my writing and editing.
