Paul Richard Deleske
Paul Deleske is a 30-year veteran wrangler of words: a writer, editor, proofreader and communicator.
He mastered the journalist’s craft during 15 years in small-town newspapers across Western Canada, serving as a reporter, columnist, editor and publisher—mentoring many aspiring writers along the way.
In 2003, Deleske transferred those wordsmithing skills to the challenging realm of communications, where he became an accredited practitioner and in-house editor in both municipal government and corporate roles.
Deleske’s red pencil and keyboard have edited and proofread written and online content ranging from front-page news, briefing notes and annual reports, to marketing materials, webpages, presentations, forms and surveys, manuals, government documents and style guides.
In 2018, Deleske established Calgary-based Blacklok Consulting, providing a range of editorial services to government, business, institutions, the non-profit sector and non-fiction authors.
Blacklok offers prospective clients three decades of experience plus an intriguing point-of-difference: the combination of an editor's sharp eye and a communicator’s insight.
These dual perspectives result in professionally edited text that maximizes a client’s opportunity to engage effectively with readers and target audiences. Blacklok's editing leaves no footprints; the writer’s voice and vision always shine through.
Blacklok’s fees are structured around project size, scope, complexity and timelines. Workflows can be tailored to meet a client’s needs and deadlines.
Your words matter. Blacklok works to ensure they’re always your very best words.
