Tanya Mykhaylychenko

I provide professional resume/CV writing services for academics, freelancers, and all other industries and career levels. I also copyedit academic texts in the humanities and write for businesses.

My professional background is in teaching writing courses at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and TÉLUQ University in Montreal, Quebec.

As a writer and editor who has worked on manuscript chapters, business communications, and translations, I ensure that the author’s message and expertise are reflected in a compelling way for the target readers within a given context.

As a professional resume/CV writer, I know that recruiters and hiring managers take just a few seconds to screen the resumes. I build collaborative partnerships with my clients to review their goals and career history, select important achievements, and phrase them with utmost clarity — to outline a match between the employer’s needs and the client’s skills. My aim is to help my clients articulate their unique measurable accomplishments and increase the number of interview invitations.

My credentials and qualifications include:

►Master of Arts in English from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, USA (2009)

►copy editing training from Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada (2017)

►12+ years of professional experience in the academic and business environments

►5+ years with award-winning resume writing companies in the U.S. and Canada

►professional development via Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches

►copy editing and line editing experience in the social sciences, humanities, and art history

►experience in language assessment writing and editing for Paragon Testing Enterprises, the Canadian leader in English language testing

►knowledge of plain English principles and marketing essentials

Some of my editorial specializations include ESL, humanities, language assessment, performing arts, film, theater, visual arts, art history, popular culture, women’s studies, Slavic studies, LGBTQIA, ecology/environment, education, linguistics, ethnography, history, psychology, social work, sociology, public policy, travel, international affairs, leadership, business, advertising, public relations, marketing, multicultural interest, nonprofit, real estate, web content, and self-help.

Among my recent projects, I wrote book summaries for an art publisher Rodovid Press, copyedited the translated essays for an anthology Kazimir Malevich. Kyiv Aspect (2019), and translated a substantial archive of oral history interviews from the Ukrainian into English for a monograph in ethnography for the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta.

To date, I have worked with a variety of genres, including academic journal articles, personal statements, CVs, resumes, biographies, grant applications, dissertations, theses, nonfiction, assessments, e-learning storyboards, grant proposals, training manuals, RFPs, reports, newsletters, instruction manuals, surveys, promotional campaign materials, marketing copy, website copy, business letters, mission/vision statements, press releases, employee handbooks, procedures manuals, capability statements, white papers, policies, and technical materials.

Here’s what some of my clients say about my work:

“Tanya is an exceptional ally in the writing process. We collaborated on several projects and I found her to be extremely helpful, insightful, clear and efficient – always submitting documents ahead of our timeline. She exceeded my expectations and I can’t recommend her enough!”

Manager, Educational Leadership

“Just wanted to reach out and thank you for your work on my resume. I landed a great job today and was regularly complimented on my resume throughout the process.”

Resume writing client, Accounting

“Tanya recently finished a long translation project on my behalf going from Ukrainian to English. It took nearly a year to complete because there was so much to do (hundreds of pages). Her work on this project was superb. She submitted to me all translations in a timely manner. I would, and likely will, ask her to work on other projects with me.”

— William Noll, the author of Transformation of Civil Society. An Oral History of Ukrainian Peasant Culture of the 1920-1930s
