Join or Renew
We're thrilled you're considering joining us. Whether you're returning after an absence or joining for the first time, here are the links to join Editors Canada.
Join now
Join now as a member: Open to anyone and allows participation in all programs and benefits.
Join now as an emeritus member*: Open to editors who are 60 years of age or older and have a total of any 10 years of membership in the association. To apply for emeritus membership, you must supply proof of age.
Join now as a student affiliate*:
- Students pay less than 20% of the cost of full membership but receive about 75% of the benefits.
- If student affiliates convert to Editors Canada members after finishing their studies, they can take advantage of our transitional fee structure, which moves them into full fees over a two-year period.
Students are defined as anyone enrolled part-time in an editing or editing-related post-secondary program, or in full-time post-secondary studies in any discipline. Editors Canada will also allow the student affiliate status for anyone applying for it within three months of completing one of these programs.
People who are working and taking supplementary courses for professional development do not qualify as students.
Students must provide proof of student status to info@editors.ca. This can be any document showing the name of the educational institution, their name and a date (including the year), such as
- a tuition receipt,
- program registration,
- a signed letter or email from a professor, or
- an unofficial transcript.
Join now as a two-year member: Members who renew for two years will receive a 5% discount on their membership fee. Pay online now to join Editors Canada for two years. (Note: The two-year option is not available for emeritus members and student affiliates.)
Honorary Life Membership: This is a discretionary honour that may be awarded by the association to an Editors Canada member who has made an exceptionally valuable contribution to the association. It cannot be applied for.
*Emeritus membership and student affiliate eligibility require confirmation by the Editors Canada national office.
