Dan Donovan is the founding Publisher and Managing Editor of Ottawa Life Magazine, (OLM) (www.ottawalife.com), the national capital’s largest, longest running and award winning general interest and lifestyles magazine (est. 1997). He has written extensively about government and politics, foreign affairs, health policy, aboriginal issues and policing and criminal justice issues in Canada.

Dan is a frequent commentator on radio and television on public policy matters. He has been published in numerous newspapers including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Sun, Maclean's, Masthead Magazine, and Al Jazirah newspaper in Saudi Arabia. He is the author of True Grits, New Grits and the Sustainable Development series (1993-1998 Hemlock Publishing Inc.)

As the Executive Producer of the television series THE NEXT GREAT PRIME MINISTER this Magna-CBC co-production was nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2008.

Although Dan’s career extends far beyond the world of publishing this evening he will be speaking about his role as a publisher and managing editor.
