Have you registered for the Editors Canada Proofreading and Structural Editing certification exams yet? Don't delay! Registration closes on Friday, October 19.
If you're thinking about becoming a Certified Proofreader or Certified Structural Editor, keep in mind you won't be able to write these exams again until 2020. Copy Editing and Stylistic Editing will be offered in 2019.
Exam date: Saturday, November 17, 2018
Locations: Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa
"I pursued the CPE designation (when I worked in a corporate setting) to show that editing was not just something I happened to have a knack for, but something I'd studied, something I saw as my career, and something that could actually bring a lot of value to my organization," says Jess Shulman, CPE. "The designation allowed me to gain the trust of people throughout my company. Now that I work freelance, it gives prospective clients immediate confidence in my abilities."
Beginning in 2018, Editors Canada is pleased to offer the professional certification exams for candidates in remote locations. You can apply to write an exam remotely if you live more than 300 kilometres from any of the scheduled exam locations or your particular circumstances make travelling to an exam centre a hardship. We also welcome applications from international candidates.
If you wish to write a professional certification exam from a remote location, you must apply in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, October 15, 2018.
