Kelly Davis, MSc

Toronto, ON

I am a writer and editor with more than 16 years' experience communicating scientific and medical information. I have an MSc in biology and possess benchtop, academic, and clinical research experience. Most recently, as senior medical writer for a clinical research organization, I wrote protocols, informed consent forms, clinical study reports, and other documents for phase 1 clinical trials.

My freelance and contract work has included copyediting of medical and science textbooks, journal manuscripts, patient information booklets, slide presentations, and website content. I have worked with some of Canada’s largest publishers of educational resources, including Pearson Education, Elsevier, Nelson, and BC Decker.

Previous editing positions have included copyeditor for the Canadian Cancer Society's cancer encyclopedia, math editor for high school textbooks, manuscript editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and science writer/editor for the Canada Research Chair in Cardiac Regeneration. My fields of expertise include oncology, medicine, pharmacology, biology, nursing, and health.
