EAC’s annual conference would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of volunteers. Volunteering at the conference is an excellent opportunity to network with fellow editors and build your resumé. The conference committee is looking for on-site volunteers to help with the tasks listed below. Shifts are two to four hours long and volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one task. Anyone interested in volunteering for the conference should contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Transporting Conference Materials
We are in need of volunteers (and their vehicles) to help transport conference materials from the National office to the conference venue (both located in downtown Toronto) on Thursday, June 5 in the morning. Volunteers will also be needed on Monday morning (June 9) to transport materials from the venue back to the office.
Stuffing Conference Bags
Volunteers are needed to help stuff conference bags on the Thursday afternoon before the big event (June 5). Be one of the first to get a sneak peek at the contents!
Helping with the registration table is a great way to meet fellow editors and interact with conference-goers. This job involves assisting with registration, distributing host packages, and collecting evaluation forms. Volunteers are needed to staff the table Saturday and Sunday, as well as help with set-up on Friday morning and tear down on Sunday afternoon.
Volunteering at the vendor fair will involve staffing vendor tables, assisting vendors, collecting payments, and keeping records of items sold. Shifts are available during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
Please note: Volunteers should be members of EAC and, while volunteers are not required to register for the conference, you do need to register if you would like to attend any of the sessions being offered.
