Editors Canada Conference 2022

The 2022 Editors Canada conference is scheduled to take place May 27–29, 2022. Due to an existing venue contract, we are tentatively planning an in-person/online hybrid event, with the in-person event taking place at the Westin Edmonton hotel in Edmonton, Alberta.

What will a hybrid event look like?

A hybrid event will involve an in-person event, with speakers, networking, and events taking place at the hotel, while also having online sessions that will be streamed for all attendees. Online networking opportunities will also be available for all attendees, and every effort will be made to ensure all content is available in both formats. Sessions will be recorded and made available to participants for 3 months following the conference.

What about COVID-19 and the public health situation in Alberta?

We are closely monitoring the situation, but are unable to change our venue contract until closer to the event. The committee is planning for a hybrid event due to our existing contract, but will be prepared to switch to a fully virtual conference should the situation require it. Any decisions will be communicated as soon as we are able.

What about booking a room, pricing and other event details?

The conference committee is seeking to confirm an in-person option as soon as possible. A hybrid event will be a new experience for us all. This includes budgets and logistics. We are seeking to bring clear options to our members as planning progresses.
