I have been working as an editor since 1991, and have been a freelancer for over 25 years. My special areas of expertise and passion are fiction, religion/spirituality, LGBT writing, environmental issues, and poetry. I was the copy editor of the 2018 Giller Prize winner Washington Black by Esi Edugyan; the 2019 Governor General's Award for Fiction winner Five Wives by Joan Thomas; and the 2019 Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction winner Older Sister. I trained as a copy editor at Penguin Books in London, and have also worked for Random House, HarperCollins, Page Two, Biblioasis, House of Anansi, Goose Lane Editions, Annick Press, Firefly Books, Thomas Allen, Key Porter Books, and Prentice Hall.
