I’m the founder and senior editor of Editarians, a Calgary-based editing company specializing in academic writing, especially documents written in APA Style (APA 7). For over 21 years we have helped hundreds of clients understand APA Style, reduce their overwhelm, and polish their papers to submit with confidence.

Specializations

1. Academic work written to meet the standards of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Style editing). We edit theses, dissertations and dissertation proposals, capstone projects, journal articles, book chapters, course papers, and reports in APA 7. We can help you prepare submission letters and submission essays for the job or program of your dreams! 

2. Nonfiction book manuscripts. We have worked on memoirs, how-to books, self-help books, screenplays, and more, on topics from psychology to happiness to business succession. Please contact me if you would like a list of recent titles we have edited.

My Editing History

I have been editing in various capacities since the early 1990s. I began editing in Japan, first for local and prefectural governments, and then for a bilingual magazine. Upon returning to Canada, I started freelance editing in 2002 under the name Documedic Editing Solutions and began to form a team. Our aim was simple: do an unparalleled job of improving clients’ written work, and make them jubilant in the process. In 2012, to celebrate the milestone of 10 years in business, we changed our name to Editarians, and we have never strayed from our original mission.
