Profile

I have over thirty years’ experience editing and writing in the corporate, nonprofit, and academic sectors, including structural editing, stylistic editing, copy editing and proofreading. I simplify and clarify materials for audiences. I am experienced with editing materials from native and non-native English language writers. I have a BA in Psychology with a minor in English and an Executive MBA.

My editing experience includes large nonprofit government reports, nonprofit and corporate proposals, market reports, business plans, strategic plans, operational plans, annual reports, corporate and educational manuals, journal articles, concept notes, white papers, position papers, newsletters, newspaper articles, magazine articles, press releases, marketing materials, contracts, film subtitles, résumés, and CVs.

I am a fifth-generation Albertan—a settler descendant from where the Bow and Elbow Rivers meet. The Blackfoot name is Mohkinstsis, which is also called Calgary. But I didn’t stay long. I studied French in Québec and France, taught English in Japan, completed international MBA studies in Germany and Mexico, worked in international development in dozens of countries, and travelled to dozens more—70 countries collected so far, with a love of culture, language, and people. I’m currently based in Toronto, Canada and still globetrotting.
